Huawei on Tuesday continued its ongoing roll out of midrange devices into the Kenyan market by launching the Y6 2019 smartphone, which will be retailing at Ksh. 13,499, just a month after launching the Y7 prime smartphone in the country.
This comes just a few days after the electronics maker announced that it would be partnering with online retailer Kilimall in a digital marketing campaign that would herald the official launch of the Y6 2019 smart phone in Kenya.
According to Huawei’s Head of Eastern Africa Mobile, Steven Li, the launch of its smartphones has been instigated by a rising local demand for the electronics maker’s devices.
“Thanks to the enthusiastic support of consumers and partners in Kenya as well as the demand for quality affordable phones; we once again launch another Y series in the Kenyan market, Huawei Y6 2019. We are kicking off the campaign with a pre-order where members of the public are encouraged to pre-order within two weeks,” Mr. Li said during the launching ceremony.
The Y6 smartphone boasts of among other things, a sleek curved design, a 13MP rear camera that ensures crystal- clear imaging quality with its high resolution and a front 8MP camera that offers a smarter beautification algorithm and according to Mr. Li the phone’s offerings showcase Huawei’s adeptness in offering quality products.
