Online shopping platform Jumia is set to woo customers yet again come next week with the launch of the firm’s annual Anniversary sale that will last for three weeks.
The sale will take place between Monday June 24 and Sunday July 14 and it will present customers with the opportunity to buy products from diverse international brands at staggering discounts. Jumia is partnering with brands such as Samsung, Nokia and Skyworth to headline the anniversary sale.
According to a news report by the Business Daily, items such as foodstuff, electronics and clothing will be available for reduced prices once the anniversary sale kicks off on Sunday June 23, at midnight.
“We will continue to bring down commodity prices even as we fast approach Jumia anniversary. There will be millions of deals on Jumia – in addition to our biggest ever Flash Sale. As part of this, customers will find items such as 1,000 units of Kabras 2KG sugar going for Ksh. 20 when the anniversary sale commences,” Jumia Managing Director, Sam Chappate, is reported to have told the Business Daily.
Customers will have to download Jumia’s app in order to access the discounted goods. However, stocks will be limited and interested persons will have to bid quickly for the items they desire before stocks run out.
The online platform has had a successful run in 2019 with the seller partnering with Chinese Electronics Company Xiaomi in March in a deal that will see the online platform distribute the electronics maker devices across the continent. The partnership will see Jumia open Xiaomi’s official store on its platform which will connect the electronics maker to millions of customers across fourteen different African countries. Similarly, in April, the online retailer became the first African startup to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, where it will be trading under the name JMIA.
