The Alliance High School Old Boys Club (AHS OBC) in collaboration with the Alliance High School, Kikuyu (AHS) on Saturday hosted the inaugural edition of the Alliance Classic Run. The run, which featured 5km, 10km, 15km and 20km races was attended by hundreds of recreational runners: current students, alumni, parents at AHS and friends of the school.

We had a fabulous day. The turnout by the alumni was encouraging, and their desire to support the event was clear. Equally impressive was the support by friends of the Alliance High School – individuals and institutional

All came out strongly to support the run and the cause it seeks to support: the Alliance High School Endowment Fund. I am very grateful to I&M Bank Kenya, Minet Kenya Insurance Brokers Limited, Centum Investments Company, PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, The Karen Hospital and of course the AHS for the support that they all gave to the event.

Mr. William Mwangi, the Principal at AHS flagged off the inaugural run from the school’s grounds. The routes took the runners through Ondiri, Kikuyu, Thogoto, Gikambura and Mai-ai-hii neighbourhoods.

The administration at AHS led by Mr. Mwangi has committed to supporting the second edition of the Alliance Classic Run, tentatively slated for May of 2019.
