Huawei Kenya on Tuesday unveiled the long-awaited HUAWEI Mate 20 Series in a move the firm said ties in with the company’s goal of meeting and satisfying customer demand.
“Consumer expectations are rising and in the race to bring the best Android smartphone to the market, Huawei is leading the rapid development of technologies that help improve device performance to satisfy those needs,” Steven Li Huawei’s Head of Eastern Africa Mobile said during the launch.
The Huawei Mate 20 phones, according to Mr. Li, will offer customers a compelling combination of high performance, longer battery life, advanced security and a greater photography and videography experience.
“The HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a 40MP main camera, a 20MP ultra wide-angle camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera. Together, the trio of lenses supports a wide range of focal lengths enabling it to mimic the results from professional cameras,” Mr. Li said.
“Besides superb performance, the HUAWEI Mate 20 Series also features groundbreaking improvement on battery life. It supports 15W HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge; the industry’s fastest wireless charging solution.”
The Mate 20 phones also offer biometric identification with the 3D Face Unlock and In-screen Fingerprint upgrade that essentially allows the device to achieve better identification speed and success rates.
The phones are also equipped with the EMUI 9.0, a smart operating system based on Android P that enables the operating system to deliver an “evergreen” experience even through extended use. The phones also feature a new gesture navigation support that will allow users to effortlessly interact with their devices using just taps and swipes.
Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. The firm offers integrated solutions across four key domains – telecom networks, IT, smart devices and cloud services.
