Samsung Electronics has named Tae Sun Lee the new East Africa Managing Director effective January 2022.
He takes over from Seok Ming Hong who has been in charge of the electronics manufacturer EA division since September 2017.
Lee will be tasked with overseeing operations at 14 key markets across East Africa. They are Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Somali Land, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Seychelles, DRC and Congo.
.Prior to his appointment, Lee held a position as Strategic Director Integrated Mobility Division post at the firm’s South Africa division. .Lee has been part of the Samsung team since August 2003 where he supported mobile operations for key Middle East markets. He is known for augmenting the brand’s smartphone brand in South Africa.
“I am very excited to have joined Samsung Electronics East Africa, I believe that this market has a great deal of potential for our Samsung products. I look forward to serving our customers and working together with the East African Team,” Lee said in a statement.
