Up and coming supermarket Quickmart on Tuesday announced the opening of a 24-hour outlet in Nairobi’s Lavington area.
According to the retailer in a news report by Business Daily, the outlet will be officially unveiled at the end of the month and it will be located in Lavington’s Valley Arcade and will serve as Quickmart’s only 24 hour branch in the country.
The Head of Marketing at Quickmart, Ms. Betty Wamaitha, as reported by Business Daily accredited the move to the company’s goal of offering exemplary services to the Kenyan populace
“When we studied the area, we discovered it is populated by high-income shoppers who require the flexibility of shopping at any time. The people in this neighborhood remain underserved. With the opening of this new branch we are trying to fill this unmet shopping need,” the Business Daily report quotes Ms.Betty Wamaitha.
The Business Daily also reports that the retailer had initially planned to open the 24-hour Lavington outlet in December 2018 but the plans were put on hold.
Once the outlet is officially unveiled, Quickmart will become the third retailer in the country to introduce a division that operates for 24 hours. Only embattled supermarket Nakumatt and Naivas Supermarket have done so before.
The new outlet will increase the retailers’ total number of branches to ten with other divisions being located in Nakuru, Kahawa Sukari, Ruiru, Waithaka, Eastern Bypass, Ruaka, Ruai and Thindigua along Kiambu Road
