Safaricom ushers in all-encompassing Home fibre package

Safaricom on Thursday unveiled an all-in-one offering dubbed Home Fibre Plus, that incorporates mobile voice calls, mobile data, SMS and Home Fibre under one package.

According to Safaricom, the package that allows customers access to the aforementioned services from any location in the country for a single fee, was crafted to meet the demands of customers in an increasingly digital world.

“Three years ago, we began our Home Fibre journey in response to demand from our customers for fast, reliable and unlimited connectivity at home,” Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer at Safaricom says in the firm’s statement.

“With increasingly digital lifestyles, the needs of our customers have continued to evolve, hence the introduction of our latest service that seeks to cater to their communication demands both in and out of the home.”

Similarly, the mobile service giant revealed the inking of a deal between Safaricom and Jubilee Insurance that will see the insurance provider offer preferential house covers to Home Fibre subscribers.

“The Home Fibre offering has also been instrumental in providing peace-of-mind to our customers when it comes to home security. Our partnership with Jubilee to offer a simplified and affordable home insurance package is a further boost in meeting this need,” said Miss Mulinge.

According to Winnie Njau, the General Manager – General Insurance Business at Jubilee Insurance, the partnership will allow the cover provider access to an untapped market.

“This partnership with Safaricom is just the beginning and we will continue to disrupt the industry so as to reach more people with our insurance solutions so they can live free,” Ms. Njau is quoted as saying in the telco’s statement.

To enjoy the Home Fibre Plus packages, Safaricom Home Fibre customers can dial *400# , select “Manage Your Subscription” and then select “Home Fibre Plus” option and pick their preferred package.

Equally, Home Fibre customers can pick their preferred home insurance plans by dialling *400# and select the “Home Insurance” option under “Manage your subscriptions”.

Safaricom’s Home Fibre service has passed more than 213,000 homes across the country and is available in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Thika, Bungoma, Kitale, Nyeri and Nanyuki among other towns.
