Realtor Superior Homes Kenya Limited has unveiled a Ksh. 800 million hotel, consisting of 33 standard villas, 13 executive suites and four executive villas, dubbed Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge.

According to Superior Homes’ Manager Nicholas Njogu the development, targets tourists who want to enjoy the experience of Lake Elementaita and it has created employment opportunities for locals in the area.   .

“We are excited to open our doors to the public offering holidaymakers a home away from home. It has created 100 jobs for the local community, improving the livelihood of families around us and boosted the national economy,” the Superior Homes Manager said.

In a related incident, Cytonn Investments has unveiled 40 serviced apartments, which will also serve as a hotel, in Westlands, Nairobi in an effort to cash in on the high occupancy rate of such residential units that currently stands at 88 percent according to the firm.

According to Cytonn Investments’ Chief Executive Edwin Dande, the apartments christened CySuites Apartments Hotel, will target both short and extended stay travellers.

“Demand for serviced apartments continues to grow,” Mr. Dande said during the official opening of the apartments-cum-hotel.

Cytonn has also been aiding the government’s affordable housing agenda by rolling out reasonably priced housing units in the Kenyan market. In July, Cytonn Real Estate, the development affiliate of Cytonn Investments,  handed over phase one of its Ruaka based residential development dubbed the Alma, comprising of one, two and three bedroomed units to buyers.

At the time of the unveiling the development was 100 percent sold out with buyers having parted with Ksh.6.3 million Ksh. 9.4 million and Ksh. 12 million to secure a one, two and three bedroomed unit respectively. The Alma is Cytonn’s most recent project to be handed over to buyer’s following last year’s unveiling of the Amara Ridge residential development in Karen.

“A lot of research went into our decision to build The Alma. Ruaka has one of the highest residential occupancies in the country. As the town grows, there is increased demand for housing with superior amenities, great finishes and strategic location. You get all of this at The Alma. The fact that all the Phase one homes have sold is a testament to this,” Mr. Dande said then.
