Unilever has been certified as the No. 1 Top Employer in Kenya and Africa by the Top Employers Institute.
The global consumer goods company was certified as the No. 1 Top Employer for the 7th time, 5 years running in Kenya and for the 6th consecutive year in the continent.
Speaking on the Award, Unilever Kenya’s Managing Director, Luck Ochieng said:
“At Unilever, our goal is to create a brighter future for all. This begins with our employees. Our people are our priority. We strive to foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, developing individual skill and capability as well as encouraging vibrant communication and engagement with our employees.”
“This recognition is a testament of our commitment to our employees that they can truly exploit their best potential at Unilever. As an organization, by ensuring we have the right values and structures in place, we empower our people to excel”, he added.
The Top Employer in Africa certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, which conducts an annual international audit of leading employers around the world.
The Dutch research firm assesses participating companies in nine key areas: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning, and development, performance management, leadership development, career and succession management, compensation and benefits, and culture.
Ochieng reiterated that Unilever’s secret to success is the fact that the company consistently aims to empower its employees to be able to make a direct impact on the business.
“If you want to be part of a team driving innovation, change and growth at one of the most dynamic and exciting periods in African business then Unilever is the place to be,” he said.
“This recognition provides external verification to those looking to join Unilever that we put our people at the heart of our business and their development and contribution will be second to none on the continent of Africa.”
