CMC Motors is the official local distributor of Renault Trucks heavy commercial vehicles in the country.
According to CMC Motors Chief Executive Noel Mabuma, in a news report from the Business Daily, the partnership is expected to bolster the company’s portfolio.
“The Renault Trucks dealership gives the company a presence in the heavy commercial vehicle segment. This has created interest from both financial service providers and logistics firms looking to supply the government and other contractors with equipment,” Mr. Mabuma is quoted as saying by the Business Daily.
In keeping with the announcement of the new deal that will see Renault get access to CMC’s eight distribution branches; Renault Trucks Africa Vice President Cyril Barille warranted the accord to the fast pace at which East African nations are growing.
The dealer; which is owned by Dubai based Al Futtain Group, will now transition from distributing passenger cars to dispensing heavy trucks that are in high demand from sectors such as trade, transport, construction and mining.
The assembly point of the heavy commercial vehicle trucks according to the news report by Business Daily will be done at Thika’s Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers, which is a subsidiary of CMC motors.
